UPDATE: Russia’s Kamaz sales rise 29% to 6,744 cars in Jan–Mar

MOSCOW, Apr 10 (PRIME) -- Sales of Russia’s largest truck maker Kamaz rose 29% on the year to 6,744 cars in January–March, the company said in a statement on Monday.

Russian sales soared 34% on the year to 5,610 in the period, while foreign sales increased 11% to 1,134 cars.

The company’s revenue rose 47% on the year to 28.6 billion rubles in the quarter, and investment jumped 67% to 2.5 billion rubles.

Russia’s market of heavy trucks increased 25% on the year in January–March due to state measures to stimulate demand, macroeconomic stabilization, adaptation of companies to macroeconomic conditions, and improvement of the commercial transportation and construction industries, the company said.

The share of Kamaz on the market of trucks with the weight over 14 tonnes stood at 56.7%.
